"TASTING NOTE: Medium- to full-bodied; powerful but not aggressive; dry cedar cigar box notes introduced into cabernet via the balzac. Balzac is a synonym for mourvedre, and if McPherson wished to add a touch of mystery, esparte might have done the job as well (it was the term used by the late Colin Preece at Seppelt Great Western). Score - 88. (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, March 2007)
