"This shows powerful fruit character, with licorice, blackberry, cherry and pepper. Full-bodied, with ripe, silky tannins and a long, racy finish. Very fine indeed. Fantastic debut wine for FSG. Drink now through 2006. 2,900 cases made. (JS)"

"The 2001 Aglianico del Vulture Efesto is a deep ruby in color, powerful, smoky, and mineral on its ripe berry-rich nose, and with an intensity and length which promise another fifteen years of life. It is a wine which already competes with the best of an historic area for fine Aglianico, but this is no surprise, as this grape is, in a certain sense, the house’s bread and butter, and is offered in three different versions."
